Best Apps to help you Write English Essays

Writing English essays is not easy unless you are native. You have to come up with ideas and organize these in your paper in a way that presents your point of view clearly. Luckily, we have some applications/programs to help you self-edit and write English essays.

MindNode helps you visualize and organize your ideas. The tool helps you organize your thoughts and work through concepts and ideas. If you don't have an effective outline for your essay, it's not going to have the sort of coherence and logic necessary to get a high score. Use Mindnode before you begin doing research or writing your article. It can help you develop your ideas and give you direction so that you write an effective essay. Available for Mac, iPad, and iPhone only.

Trello helps you organize your time and make sure you get everything done on schedule. You can use the application to create a to-do list that organizes all your events to ensure you get the most out of your time. You can use it to simplify your workload and manage your tasks into different categories of work. It's a great tool to ensure that those thoughts you have can be easily "tasked" so you don't get derailed while writing your essay.

If you've never used Evernote, it's time to start. The program allows you keep notes, capture screenshots, and organize your ideas. When it comes time to create your essay, you'll have all your facts, quotes, and research sitting there in a tidy and intuitive interface. You can also save your folders online and access your research from anywhere. The app even comes with browser extensions to make it easier to use.

Grammarly is a great tool for finding problems with spelling and grammar. It uses the Oxford comma rules, which is perfect for student essays and papers. It's available on your computer or as an add-on for your browser like Chrome to edit online text. Its free version helps you avoid common grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. It also comes with a dictionary to show definitions and synonyms. If you use the paid version, it offers better sentence structure, looks for repetitive phrasing, and clarify your writing.

Hemingway App

The Hemingway App works to make your writing clear. First, the app color codes your text to show you sentences hard to read. Second, it gives you suggestions for simplifying sentences. Also, it fixes grammar problems. The app serves as a great option for a last-minute check to increase your level of writing. The grade level indicator shows you gauge how old your audience should be to understand your writing.

Google Docs

Google Docs is a convenient online platform to make sure you never lose another word while writing your essay unlikely as Microsoft Word. With Google Docs, you can also add free add-ons to improve your writing and check spelling and grammar. Your document will also be available to edit anywhere, on your smartphone or computer. Unfortunately, Grammarly is not working on Google Docs yet as I tried. I hope it does soon.

PaperRater will check your spelling and grammar, but it also provides you with a score if you provide your educational level. This can be useful to get an estimate for the type of grade you might get in your class. It also compares your paper to thousands of other students at the same grade level so you can meet the high standards of your class. This app is a good final tool for reviewing your essay and checking ready for submission.
